The number of tourists staying overnight in tourist accommodation facilities in 2023 increased by 5.8% year-on-year to 36.2 million, as reported by the Central Statistical Office (GUS) on Monday.

The complex of thermal bath buildings in the small town of Makó in southeastern Hungary has been officially opened after modernization and expansion. The spa was designed by the outstanding Hungarian architect Imre Makovecz.

Hungarian and Polish passports are among the European Union’s best. They are also in the world's TOP-10 strongest travel documents, allowing Hungarians and Poles to enter 186 countries without a visa or with a visa that can be obtained immediately upon entry. According to Henley & Partners Hungarian, Polish, Greek and Canadian passports are in the eighth place in the global ranking.

Tripadvisor has ranked Budapest as the 7th best place for culture for 2023,  based on reviews from the global travel community. Warsaw was ranked 22nd.
