The IPN has launched a new portal Przystanekhistoria.pl - the largest of its existing websites, which has made hundreds of historical digital publications, as well as movies, recordings and photos available for users of the internet.
"Discovering history is like a journey. You can go on it at any time, easier than ever before. And when you set off into the world of history, you will see that it is still alive and current." - states the IPN video promoting the portal.
"The Institute of National Remembrance has been operating for 20 years. Nearly 3,000 published books, thousands of articles, over 500 exhibitions, and constant discussion and work on researching our latest history. Dramatic but interesting history; history from 1917-1989" - said the head of the IPN Jarosław Szarek, adding that the Przystanekhistoria.pl portal will be an important form of implementing the mission of the Institute of National Remembrance and a modern tool of historical education.
"Przystanekhistoria.pl is a response to technological and civilization challenges. The Internet is the place of message transfer, which is most often used by young people and teachers. Przystanekhistoria.pl is for anyone who is interested in history" - Mr Szarek said.
The new portal, which - as noted by the Institute of National Remembrance - is the largest digital library in Poland is designed to present in an attractive and transparent formula the current historical findings of the Institute's employees and people cooperating with the Institute.
The Institute of National Remembrance reported that the portal consists of 400 popular science articles, a thousand films and almost 800 digital publications, available for download at any time.
