Photo of the week, friendship seen through the lens – Warsaw's Białołęka district
Kultura
The photograph depicts a memorial plaque commemorating Poles and Hungarians helping Polish refugees during World War II. There are a number of other sites in Warsaw's Białołęka district devoted to our brothers be. This is primarily associated with the fact that Hungarian units were stationed in this area during World War II. The district's residents have fond memories of the Hungarians, as even though they were fighting on the side of the Third Reich, they did not consider Poles to be their enemies.
The photograph was taken by Adam, a Białołęka resident.
