Poland has ended temporary border controls with Slovakia
On Sunday, Poland officially ended temporary border controls with the Slovak Republic. As the Ministry of the Interior in Warsaw pointed out on Friday, the Polish authorities will continuously monitor the situation with migrants and may restore border controls in the event of an increase in the threat.

Polish government introduced border controls due to the influx of illegal migrants via the so-called Balkan route on October 4 2023, initially for ten days. Since then it has repeatedly extended them, a total of six times.
According to the Polish Border Guard in the past two days alone, its members checked a total of 12,600 persons and 6,800 vehicles at the border with Slovakia.
