28th of September was a date which saw both the premiere of an album devoted to Fr. Jerzy Popiełuszko and the unveiling of a commemorative plaque in Warsaw's Żoliborz to the Saint Stanislaus Kostka church priest. Following the celebrations a meeting took place devoted to dr. Imre Molnár's album, within the scope of which he presents the figure of blessed Jerzy Popiełuszko in both Polish and Hungarian.
Dr Imre Molnár, the author, signs the book
The book includes a foreword by President Andrzej Duda:
The book, now available to Polish readers, constitutes a continuation of the centuries' old friendship and solidarity, expressed in that slogan. It gives me the utmost pleasure that during this special time, when we Poles are celebrating the centenary of independence, our Hungarian friends are also looking back at this, such an important chapter in the history of this Polish Republic.
... and also by the Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orbán, who emphasised the strength of the Polish spiritual authority:
Through his conduct he contributed to Central Eastern European nations maintaining links with European Christianity and standing guard over its values to this day. We should be grateful to him, for the fact that once free from Soviet shackles, the budding Polish and Hungarian democracies were able to thrive on foundations such as these.
Imre Molnár (author) and prof. Arkadiusz Adamczyk (Felczak Institute Board member) chair the meeting
Minister Miklós Soltész with Orsolya Kovács and an interpreter
